Office Charles Whites Memorial Scholarship
We are pleased to announce the Officer Charles Whites Round Rock Police Officer’s Association Memorial Scholarship in partnership with the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation. The scholarship is one of approximately 25 RRISD PIE Foundation scholarships approved for 2019. It was funded this year in part by gift donations made to the Association in lieu of flowers for Charles’ funeral, and through a monetary gift by the Round Rock Police Officer Association.
The scholarship was created to honor Charles and his 19 years of exemplary service to the Round Rock community. Two of our officers worked closely with the Foundation to set up the guidelines for the scholarship, which were intended to be as inclusive as possible to select a student most deserving of a scholarship for their commitment to their community. The scholarship will be awarded for the first-time next spring to a deserving graduating senior from one of the three high schools in the City of Round Rock.
